I'm confused about why we need to adjust the "steering angle" (what could that actually mean?) after replacing the ABS module if we haven't removed any steering components????

Trying to look it up, I saw that my ABS problem might be related to the three steering angle sensors (aka LEW? in German or YAW? in English sensors) in the steering wheel but I don't know if that might be the cause of my ABS problem.

How do we test steering angle sensors anyway? Do we turn the wheel and feel for "free play", "dead spots", and "centering" (mine seems fine)?

Also, when I look up steering angle sensors, I find that there are different ones if I have Electronic Damper Control (EDC) or not. How do I know if I have EDC in my 2002 525i? (I know I have DSC 'cuz there's a button on my dash that says DSC). So confusing these steering angle sensors!
