I did get the cold weather version...but it arrived with half of the clamshell sheath hanging off (it's just secured by o-rings). So I just removed it and proceeded normally...we rarely get below freezing here and most of my travel is in the southeast.

It was a real pain though...and I've done some pretty intense repair work in my day. I did call my mother and tell her to go ahead and sell her garage queen E46 before it needs this!!
