I do most of my own work, I tend to allow the dealer to do oil changes and suspension (ball joints, alignments ect).. I have been turning wrenches on cars for about half my life (15 years) and the car doesnt seem that difficult, other then the fact that I can't find "much" specific e38 DIY installs (alternator on a 97, starter, waterpump, ect) I dont need to do any work to it yet, but I really like to be prepared..
