Power Steering Pump Mounting Bracket Failure
Same problem with my 2002 540i cost 2500 to repair. Mine happened suddenly, no warning. Fortunately I was not at speed. I reported the problem here
I suggest other do the same- this appears to be a manufacture defect. I would like to see BMW fix the problem so there are no injuries in the future.
