It doesn't matter in NY. You'd park 2" over the line, and the next one will park 2' from you. You'd park 4' INSIDE your line (like when you're next to the curb on the other side), and the next dude will still park 2" from you INSIDE your lines.
I'm being a little generous with the 2'
