I think I figured out the 10mm/9mm socket trick to remove the radiator nipple intact.
From my experiments today, it will be easy to use this trick (9mm worked best for me) to remove a BROKEN radiator nipple, with the broken half being removed intact (so that you don't have to worry about it floating around your cooling system passageways).
It's less obvious how to successfully use this trick to remove the ENTIRE nipple, intact.
But let's have the next person try it and let us know!
