If you get either car be sure to get some lessons in the M car. If you can afford an M3, you can afford to learn how to drive it.

BMW NA holds a school that is open to anyone 15 and up with a valid learners permit.

You could also look into club Autocrossing and then CCA driving school when you are 18. . .
