and also any other 540 drivers, is your steering wheel heavy when stopped or heavier when driving? i am experiencing lighter steering when driving and heavier steering when trying to park or parallel park. just wondering if it was normal.

thanks!
I do believe that the power steering fluid list has been posted many times before...here it is again...it is a PDF list from the BMW TIS: http://www.bimmerboard.org/members/q...0Type-List.pdf

And it may not be clear to some that replied earlier because Pentosin is the name brand of a hydraulic fluid BMW has used for decades...especially in cars that had hydraulic brake boosters and rear self leveling system which also shared the reservoir with the power steering system.

The BMWs with those systems required the use of Pentosin CHF 7 or CHF 11 S and many owners would unfortunately top off their PS reservoir with ATF...thus ruining the fluid in the PS reservoir.

But it sounds like you actually used Pentosin ATF to refill your auto tranny...thus you probably have an acceptable ATF fluid (name brand Pentosin). Again, don't confuse Pentosin CHF 11 S or CHF 7 with Pentosin ATF. Click the link above to be sure.
