35% is allowed most everywhere and why BMW used it on the privacy option. It is dark enuf to cut the sun, but gives good, clear visibility thru it at night. I have used it on all my cars.
And BTW, don't even think about tinting the taillights like the ricer boys do.....if someone rear ends you and the LEO notices it, your insurance company (and his) are off the hook. You will be will hit you with the bill for both cars, and the guy may sue you. Has happened down here before.
