The Peak scan tool will not throw a code for "false air".
It may throw a code for "Too Lean"
If you want to test, get a vacuum gauge, a hose T and hose. Connect vacuum gauge inline with fuel pressure regulator.
At idle their should be close to 12 psi (don't have manual with me right now)(please check yours)
If vacuum reading is low, start looking for leaks at the brake booster, interior temp sensor, and charcoal canister, first.
The scan tool is great (I have one), but the things that drive you crazy with BMW's don't always have a code or the code you get is for the symptoms, not the infection.
