The other driver shouldn't look to the left and accelerate while assuming the front car has left. There could be a pedestrian crossing in front of them.
One-two second delay is not normal. I don't think I've experienced that in x28i although I am not the daily driver of this car. I've have heard from the primary driver about this otherwise. This was the specific issue we look for when we test drove the car.
