So did you fix it? Here's a semi-DIY where this poster did a ground "refurb" of his brown ground wire. I would use an environmental splice if I were you, not the way he half-a$$ed it...

I am assuming you mean there is a bad connector. Can I use my multi-meter and check them and DIY?
