The only memorable and "fun" Japanese car I had owned was a 1972 Datsun 240Z. Never owned a Miata but I drove one and those are fun cars. The rest of the cars I owned were German (modified Audi TT, VW GTI, BMW E36). Out of all the Jap cars though, Inifiniti is closest to a BMW in my opinion as their cars ar emostly RWD and have decent power and handling. As for the M45, no "soul" ? yes. But its hard to argue a smooth 335HP V8 driving the rear wheels, to me its a fun car to drive.
