I think it is hit and miss fix with replacing the cap. The cap maybe not the only component that can fail. I have replaced mine and the symptoms are still there but overall it is on more frequent than off --improved after cap swap!. For the cost of eBay repairman are charging, I recommend DIY and buy some equipment if you don't have it. It's really not so hard --perhaps some youtube video on a soldering tutorial will help before starting.
