Mein Auto: Sprint car, Bonanza a36
I have found the M series to be a better mechanical artifact under the hood than non-M series. Having parted out both type cars since 1983(9,500 bmws)i have run across a HUGE amount of interesting little situations. Keep a fresh battery in the car(every year), don't "jump" the car off, don't over heat, pre-heat if below 28 degrees, change oil when your supposed to and you'll be good. Having said that....the average M has much less miles as a group than non-M cars. Do a pre-purchase at the dealership, their not perfect but can steer you away from a lemon....they know what to look for. The one drawback is.....everything to do with an M series car is either hard(er) to find and or exspensive...within reason. Great car for the car-nut no doubt.
