That does not seem right to me. Does not the "in service date" start with date customer takes delivery? That has always been my "in service date".

I find it very difficult to comprehend that a dealership will "forget" a $45K unit (that they are paying flooring costs on) for any period of time. Your friend will be better served with a new one and let them sell that one as a stock unit (which they will have no trouble doing).
