caching while going through a tunnel nothing. you want to be able to land in another country and use your phone to get to some place without roaming data. i have heard from some who do business trips that find themselves paying in the $100 of dollars in data because they were using google maps. and the lane assist is awful.

Maps are always up to date, text-to-speech is probably the best they have, routes using Google's traffic data, has multiple diff't route types, and to top it all off, it has an endless database for POIs, something Garmin can't match.
You can now cache maps into the storage so when cell signal is low, it will still work.
