I have tried the slide control under the column but does allow for any movement for in or out?????

thanks and waiting!!!!

I don't know of any one particular bolt, but the lever under the column is the correct mechanism for adjusting the length of the column. Pull it all the way out and try working the column back and forth. It's probably stuck from rust or corrosion. Maybe some spray lube might help free it up.
