I agree with some of the other posters however it comes down to personal prefference. I have a 2000 X5 with the 4.4L and I absolutely LOVE it you cant compare the performance aspect of the V8 and the fuel econmy is pretty close in comparrison. Good luck on your search, hope this helps.
