The Mk 3 nav has a key code that the Mk1 and Mk 2 didn't. If this is what is required, consider putting the cash towards upgrading to a Mk4 nav which is a simple plug n play, no key code, and allows the most recent v31 software. With the Mk3 nav, you also have to ensure the indicator light on the unit is off before disconnecting the battery...
