Yes very typical of new BMW engines.
Have seen quite a few threads, EXACTLY like this. Usually engine consumes a quart or less in first interval, then zilch.
Follow the break in procedure, and get a 1,200 miles break in oil change (BMW still pays for this for M3s, never a bad idea but it will be on you on your GC) if you like.
Suspect you are fine.
