BMW Customer Services UK have just told me that this security problem (where a key can be programmed using a cheap OBD programmer in seconds) only affects cars built after March 2007 and before September 2012

However, didn't Ace recently reprogram his fob using a cheap ebay programmer for his new C/A retrofit...

We need to know if this is BMW limiting the recall to newer cars (saving themselves money) or if cars made between those times above are truly excluded from this threat...

I'm talking about the cheap OBD device that can program any key to start your car, not some master key for 6k

Looks like their are two ways of doing this then...
