My 2006 M5 has been reliable, 60k+ miles including several track events with no transmission issue whatsoever.
I enjoy the steering feel and suspension tuning of BMW.
With the free maintenance , it cost me less to maintain this M5 than my Acura MDX which I have to pay for service (oil, differential, etc) every 7500 miles.
