Here is a detailed DIY article on cooling system work, including removing the fan.

Tell me, why are you replacing the fan? Did the car overheat? We STRONGLY suggest a complete cooling system overhaul/replacement every 70k-90k miles. If the car overheated, you may have far worse troubles than just a fan replacement.
