Also helpful are the TR tests where you can see measured tests on wet and dry braking, etc., which gives an idea of how the tire will perform on non snow covered roads, sample of winter test:

We will try the stock pirelli AS this season to see how they go. If they suck in snow, which is possible/likely, we'll get winters next season. Good luck with your purchase and pls report back on performance on whatever you decide.
