Timing Solenoid

Herein lies the problem -- BMW shows a part Solenoid Switch KSB 135 112 885 81 they can get it for $169.00 what they cannot do is cross reference the BMW part number with the Bosch # 0 281 002 007 to be certain that the two parts are the same -- and if I buy it I own it. What I cannot understand is -- presumably Bosch embosses their # 0 281 002 007 on the part as is the case on my expired solenoid -- since the picture of the solenoid in the exploded view of the injector doesn't look much like the actual solenoid -- how do BMW mechanics know they have the correct part? At $169.00 the BMW solenoid could turn out to be a very expensive paper weight, a risk , at this point, that I am unwilling to takehttp://s1.bimmerfest.com/forums/images/smilies/smile3453453.gif
