I'm way past me warranty (154k miles and counting) and I haven't spent much more than $5000 on maintenance (several sets of tires and plugs/brakes, etc at 100K miles) in that time and have had no repairs. You mentioned $2000 on tires... You're either getting the wrong tires or getting them from the wrong place! Even in the 19" size the Pilot Super Sports are under $1300 (shipping included). With mount and balance you're still under $1500 and, with you're not driving that much, a set should last you a good long time. I would keep the car and skip the extended warranties. You'd have to have some really serious stuff break to get near the cost of the warranty and, based on what I've seen reported on this forum and on my experience, the E9x doesn't break a lot. It's a gamble I guess. A few people will have failures and be glad they had the warranty but I think, for the vast majority, it's a waste of money.
