3 solutions to your problem...

1. Your Starter has gone bad. A failing starter can cause intermittent start symtoms just as you describe. They can be removed and bench tested by any local autozone or oreily.

2. Something got wet when you lost all your coolant like the CPS (though the engine should still turn), or an important relay somewhere.

3. Your battery cables are loose. Perhaps when the new one was installed they didn't tighten the cables.
