Tem sinais de flocos metallicos no fluido? A direçao e duro? ou será que trava um pouco e depois solta?

So we have established that the fluid is pretty dark, because the fluid in the picture in the link doesn't look that great and his is darker. The noise comes when it is hot and he goes lock-to-lock and to us the sound is more like: "eeeeeennnnnnyoooooh, allowing for the differences in how the letters sound.

We'll see how he answers the other questions. I wonder if a clogged filter could cause fluid starvation and thus nasty noises even if the level is good? I've done a lot of work on my cars but steering has rarely caused me any trouble other than rack bushings and tie rod ends.
