hondo402000: Where is the USB port you mention? Glovebox or next to the AUX jack? If nothing next to the AUX jack, then the USB won't work with an ipod/iphone.

Search "BMW iDrive Cable" on Amazon.com and choose one of the ~$20 cables. I have the neXplug iPod Adapter one and it works great. (BTW 2010's also need the Y cable, the new combox didn't come out until early 2011MY)
