If you can resolve the winter tire problem, then I would modify your trip to drop off in Vienna, and fly home from Budapest (If you're doing Lufthansa using BMW desk, flying home from Budapest is same as return from Munich.) Not that Vienna drop off is M-F only
12/6 arrive in Munich.
12/7 pickup, Dachau and Munic
12/8 drive to Salzburg
12/9 Drive to Vienna
12/10 Vienna, , drop off car
12/11 - Train to Budapest
12/12Budapest
12/13 Fly home
