Honda and GM have the oil life meter down to a science... Esp Honda. 100%, 90%, 80% etc. Comes out to like a 8k interval. realistic. 5k on my BMW with Syn oil and doing HWY trips? I don't think so. 7,500 min. 10k max. 8k seems what I always end up going with on most cars.

I finally got some time tonight to look at the spec sheets on the M1 0-40 and the Castrol Edge 0-30 and the factory BMWoil. Looks like the M1 is abut 11% thicker. And from what I searched the BMW Dealership oil is not the "good stuff". It's just decent oil that meets spec. So looks like I'm going to try and my hands on some 0-30 Castrol Edge (German castrol). The 0w-30 Edge meets the LL-01 and the MB Spec for my wife's C300. I think that is the way to go if I can find it locally and do a 8-10k interval.
