If I can't easily fit my bike in the boot, then what's the point of an SUV over any ordinary vehicle with split folding seats or a bike rack?
I'm a single guy, living in a city, who likes to go backpacking on weekends. To get to the great trailheads in the Sierras or the Cascades you need a little (but honestly not a lot) of ground clearance.
The X1 is perfect for me, except that it's automatic only. My 2006 X3 is a manual transmission, and I won't give it up.
