Given all that, I went with the ('09) normal system and I think it's fine. Note that speaker decontenting in '10 made a noticeably bad change. I've not driven a current model to see if it came back, but if there's a level between "base" and HK, I'd take it.

This. Perfectly happy with mine, although as George pointed out, the '09 base system was still a 10-speaker system.
