I recommend the transmission fluid change. I neglected to do so and at 207k my front seal blew out due to clogged filter causing pump to heat freezing bearing and wearing the seal. If I would have serviced tranny this would not have happened. I was expecting heavy metal shavings but I did not get that, just black fluid. This tells me the tranny is a beast. I was gonna sell but I'm in the process of fixing a leak on repaired tranny and if the test drive feels right I'm keeping it. I agree with others on saving money. I have yet to do the CCV but that is next on list, then ill make sure suspension is right.
Personally I think it's a myth that BMW are expensive to maintain or hard to work on, I've found the tasks to actually be simpler and its fun
