In Houston, ethanol in our gas is due to EPA mandates. I can drive 80 miles to my weekend place and get ethanol free gas, but in Houston it's E10 by law. Well, not law, but regulatory mandates.

This is not to say Shell is or isn't better gas. I used to use Shell 100% of the time, back when they had the Shell Mastercard that gave you a 5% rebate. When they dropped that, I got a PenFed card that gives 5% on *any* gas, and now I use Chevron most of the time.
