While I don't know what he tool in question is, I do find it quite interesting that a multi-tool of sorts as part of an automotive kit includes a wine bottle opener. Doesn't this one stow away under the driver's seat?



I guess they figured no good German would bother with wine, so it's not that tempting...

BTW, if it is 10 markings per actual full inch, then it corresponds to an old measure still used sometimes in Germany. The translation of inch is "Zoll", not to be confused with customs, which goes by the same translation. :-) I do not believe that within 1 Zoll we would use the confusing 1/16 markings that the US uses, and instead still keep it metric and split it up in 10 equal measures.

I'm not sure what on a car is generally measured in Zoll, but I recall it still being prevalent for plumbing products, such as pipe sizes etc. Tread depth is measured in mm. Rim size is measured in Zoll but clearly, the tool does not aid in determining that.
