Me too I have a few more data points, including a 997 TT and a RS6, and have never had a problem with any of the ED cars or had any that burned oil. The 650 vert had the Vmax limiter exorcised an hour after leaving the Welt and it burns the "normal" quart every 4K miles.
The real issue with break-in is heat cycling the tires and bedding the brakes before romping on it; not the engine.
