I filled up the other day with 70.826 litres (18.71 gallons). Cost me about $98. Yes the gauge was pretty much on empty but it happens from time to time. I think you're fine. My previous car (99 Civic) had a fuel capacity of 45 litres and on some occasions, I managed to put in 50 litres because it was that low. I wouldn't be too worried if I were you. The gas station's equipment has to be calibrated pretty often so it's pretty accurate.
