If you get an 740i, it MUST have a sport-package otherwise its a waste. 740iL have lots more room, seems to be a better cruiser, and smoother. Check build date, make sure they have wide-screen navi. Sport 740iL are nice, they will feature the S-EDC struts which almost are always blown. Cost is 1100 each but they can be replaced with ANY 740i strut, even from 1995 740i. Its debated that the 98s are a really great year to avoid VANOS hell which im dealing with. Otherwise, if you land an 01 740i or iL and swap out those timing guides you'll be solid.
