Im sure your e30 325 made it to the 200's, the 740 or the 745 will not. Ive owned them all including 2 e38's a 00 and an 01 and both tranny's went right at 100k. If you can indeed wipe your ass with the cost of the car which i dont doubt with over 100k than its a cool cheap car but dont be upset when it need 5k worth of repairs in the 1st year. and the trans is slipping And your welcome.

What I have read says the 2002-2008 cars have electrical issues, as well as some other problems.. Apparently though, the car will either have them, or not, and you would know long before 100k.
so what you are telling me is that BMW's flagship car has issues at 100k even though I have been driving bmw's into the 200k range since high school? i own a little 325 which now has 200k on it, and it still drives great and the ac is still cold. I am hoping that the Germans stepped it up and did the right thing.
any other issues that are common? what about with the 2001? other than the body style change, are there any major differences?
