this is why reading the manual is bad. every fluid needs to be changed at some time for a longer lasting vehicle. the manual trannies are a longer service interval, its normally done the same time you get a diff service.
the newer cars are a dealer only service on the trannies. they use a machine that attaches to one of the cooler lines then the other to the radiator and it flushes out the fluid. but thats mainly on autos
