It's almost silly that I bought winter tires in the first place given I live in the Upstate SC. The county owns a whopping two pieces of snow equipment so in the rare case it snows, everything shuts down.
However, I'm very frequently in Western NC which has weather and climate closer to that of the Northeast given its elevation. I've already found the benefits of that once, so although there's many days where I feel silly with snow tires, many nights are below 7°C anyway so its worth it.
Started this morning at -3°C in the Upstate, I think WNC was closer to -9°C so it does get cold there.
