I think while your ease of steering increases, your grip will decrease with high air pressure. I've never set any tires that high. Lower PSI will give your more grip. Take a look at the recommended pressures on your door panel and adjust from there.
I've never driven in snow but I am a believer that Michelin makes the best tires these days.
