BMWNA or the dealer had insurance.

Car got flooded, saltwater, in the lot- prior to new vehicle prep (car still had shipping wrap)>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Here:

"Primary damage: WATER- SALT"

insurance totaled the car, paid the total claim

Insurance then took the car, branded the title, sold it at auction

OP brought it at auction.
Keep it as simple as possible...but no simpler.
