Mayve the reverse light is powered by PWM, but the other lights normally are too, at least the exterior ones as far as I know.
I can offer a suggestion though.
If you get a standard automotive relay, attach it to the reverse light for the "on" and to the battery / continuous on for the +ve.
That way it will turn on when reverse light is on and it will supply power form a steady source.
