328i/M3 mid section is horrible for flow, converters are only 3 inch wide and there is almost 90 degree angle before them, pipe is only about 1.6 inch wide under the two small resonators after rear 02 sensors. This exhaust was built in mind for quietness and emissions and S52 only makes 240hp, it is not a jet engine. 1995 maxima SE with 3.0L engine makes 230hp and it only has 2 inch exhaust pipe all the way back.

323i exhaust is a single pipe and has bigger single catalytic converter, and the exhaust probably flows as good as 328i duals and weights less.
