If I was in your shoes...I'd look up the comfort seat (or the parts for the comfort seat) from the 2006 4.8is (including the rails) on one of the part database sites like www.realoem.com ... then use the vehicle part nbr search feaature to see if the earlier models are listed as using the same part.

For example...I looked up the comfort seat control actuator (#1 in the diagram below)...


...then copied and pasted it's 11 digit BMW part nbr (61317119869) into the part nbr cross reference search feature on the site at the following link and got this list of BMW vehicles that use the same part...if you click on the E53 details link...you'll get the list of e53 models that use that part: http://realoem.com/bmw/partxref.do?p...9869&showus=on
