Definitely, I knew I was going to be replacing as much fluid as possible so I ordered 12 qts. I was not convinced when every kit I saw came with 6 qts and every thing I read said my tranny held 11.5 qts, so I bought 12 and conferred with indy mechanics and friends that had it done and all said to just let it sit and drain as much as possible because the beneficial effect of the new fluid was much less when you have a significant amount of old fluid still in the tranny.
