They go on either side of the window, I have 2 sets one is on the inside of my wife's car window and the other is on the outside of my car. I must say however that its easier to stick on the inside of the car I've been having some issues getting it to stick to the outside of the woidow so don't be in too much of a hurry when applying it to the outside.
